Before the 2013 season was even underway, history was made at Sauble Speedway! A group of volunteers made up of drivers, pit crew, staff and fans gave up their Saturday and Sunday to help prepare for opening and make some improvements to the speedway. Painting, cleaning, fabricating a new tire rack and cutting back some brush were some of the chores being done, but the main focus was the construction of a new technical inspection area. This new inspection area will allow a more thorough inspection of competitors’ race cars without the distraction of crowds of people being just a few feet from officials. The work being completed will enhance the atmosphere for competitors and fans alike. I would like to thank everybody who participated in the work this past weekend, and the Sauble Drivers Association for initiating the effort!
